Saturday, 30 July 2022 was marked as the day when IMT Medical Transport Limited took on the Tough Mudder 15km challenge in support of two chosen charities. Sadly, some staff members could not take part for personal reasons, but their support was very well received, and Chris and John took to the Yorkshire Countryside to compete.
The organisation of the event was exceptional and after a motivational “warm-up” session by the DJ, it found us both tired-out before we even set off!!! But set-off we did, and the spirit of the event was everything we could have wished for. It was a challenge, we are not denying that, but the values of teamwork, camaraderie and gaining a personal accomplishment where there to see.
We experienced the unexpected and accomplished something we both could not have expected. What was very good was how other people we didn’t even know, worked with us on some of the more challenging obstacles. Strangers working side by side to overcome the obstacles.
Thank you to everyone who supported us and for Marion and Emma who cheered us on from near, to those of you who cheered us on from afar and the messages of support you gave throughout the day; we appreciated it.
In closing, here are John’s final thoughts: Don’t do the electric eel if you have a leg full of metal and don’t put me down for next Year!! But it was rewarding to see that with the support from Chris, I could complete such a challenge.
