August 2020 NEWS Update: NHS Blood and Transplant contracts awarded to IMT Medical Transport Limited.
The Board of Directors of IMT Medical Transport Limited (IMT) are pleased to announce the contract awards by NHS Blood & Transplant (NHSBT) for the UK’s transportation of National Organ Retrieval Service (NORS) Teams, transplant organs and NHSBT personnel. The contract awards means that IMT will be providing a full range of transportation in support of the organ donation process across the UK and to other out of area locations.
IMT’s Board of Directors say “This is fantastic news for us as a Company and is a reflection of the commitment by our dedicated staff. It is another step forward in IMT’s aim to deliver our competency, knowledge and skills to the UK transplant operation. It shows the commitment, trust, understanding and reputation of our staff, which has been built and established in this field of transportation since the Company’s formation in 2017 from its base in Huyton, Merseyside”.
IMT’s Board members and staff have been operating a successful and quality controlled transport for transplant for over 15 years prior to the contract awards, delivering services to Manchester Royal Infirmary’s and Kings College Hospitals’ NORS teams and their associated organ transportation.

NEWS and Updates:
August – September 2019: Organ Donation Week takes place between the 2nd and 8th of September 2019.
IMT Medical Transport Limited are delighted to announce that we are supporting Organ Donation Week (ODW) again and this Year it is even bigger. ODW is a wonderful week of activity that shows the kindness of donors and the incredible impact that they have on transplant recipients; it is an opportunity to educate, inform and inspire people to help save and improve more lives. We are proud to support this and would kindly ask that you do so as well by helping us to get this message out to lots of people.
This Year, the fantastic team at the North West Organ Donation Service are not doing the annual Organ Donation Games, (but they are planning to do them in April 2020 when the law changes to opt out). Instead, they are doing a cycle ride on the 6th of September where three teams of cyclists will leave a celebratory event at Salford Royal on a journey to the regional transplant centres at Manchester Royal, Leeds and Wythenshawe to signify a visual and physical representation of the ‘journey’ involved in the organ donation process.
The 3 groups of cyclists will travel along appropriate and pre planned routes carrying symbolic organs (Heart & Lungs – Kidney & Pancreas – Liver & Arms) where on arrival at the transplant centres we hope they will receive a big celebration when they hand the symbolic organs to members of the transplant teams.
IMT Medical will support all 3 teams logistically throughout the ride and afterwards and would kindly ask any reader of this to please support ODW and share this and other articles with as many people as you can. From all of us at IMT Medical, we would like to say a huge thank you in advance of this great occasion and for the hard work undertaken by all of the transplant teams (NORS and Live Donor) and their support services, alongside the many families and friends of the donors and recipients who are involved in the journey.
The Purpose explained: A visual and physical representation of the ‘journey’ involved in the organ donation process. The celebration at Salford Royal represents an organ donation then the organs start their journey. A play on ‘journey’ – family grief, emotional, journey of donor, new beginnings, life saving journey, journey of the recipients, the continued journey of the donor and recipient once organ transplanted and a life saved. The celebration at the receiving centres represents life saving transplants

IMT Medical Transport, setting the standards we aim to deliver across our business and across the industries we work within.
June 2018 saw us sponsor the The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital “Blood, Sweat and Tears Award”.
It was an honour to be in such company as the staff at RMCH who make such a difference to young lives. The awards evening recognised the people and teams at the RMCH who have made a difference everyday, highlighting the excellence of service and care they provide.
The inspirational individuals’ and teams’ contributions makes our small sponsorship to the event insignificant; but we will hope to continue our support of the wonderful staff and patients at RMCH into the future. The photo shows the PED team, who were the winners of our Blood, Sweat and Tears sponsorship.
